I am Val Anderson, a historian with a special interest in the social history of Anglo-Indians. I Completed a PhD in Indian History at the School of Oriental and African Studies, London, in 2011. The thesis, entitled 'The Eurasian Problem in Nineteenth Century India' explores the life and times of people classified as mixed-race by the Colonial government. For this government such people were often considered to be the Eurasian problem. The Eurasian problem was, in fact, the government.
